Hi, this is my first time asking for a raise. As an asian woman, im not used to asking since i was always thaught i have to earn/prove it to receive it eventually. But it been almost 3 years and this pandemic is staining me financially. Any tips before i book an appointment?
Help! Need some tips on negotiating. Step by step. SC at Deloitte offered at AWS for L5 data scientist. Big raise to $240k TC. 3 YOE+MS. Word of mouth says that this is a good offer for my location (DC). I have a bunch of questions and I'm also looking for any tips for anything I'm missing. -Even if it's a good offer, is there always $ on the table to ask for? -I have a final interview elsewhere this Thursday. Should I start negotiating now or wait until I hear on the other option? ...
How do you get a promotion soon? Also, how do I fetch for leadership opportunities? Just started out with rank 44
Cool, firmwide promotion list is out so I can be bitter about all the other people I started with getting promoted when I didn't #grumpy
Incompetent senior is up for promotion this year and is mostly likely gonna get promoted cuz she knows how to kiss asses. A couple people on her projects already quit and no associates want to (con’t)
Is the main advantage of applying to mba early simply to literally start making more sooner? Is it easier when you’re younger? I’m fortunately not in a rush to apply and I think next year my app will be stronger, my income is not gonna be much higher post mba, I’ll have another promotion, better recs, and less debt to take on. What am I missing?
Hi fishes, I am currently a staff 3 at EY GDS and got confirmation on my promotion. I will be a S1 effective from october and i got the exceptional performer rating. But i have 3 YOE with 8 LPA and i received an indirect hint that my hike wont be good. Please let me know your thoughts? How much can i expect in terms (%) increment this year based on the promotion? Is that even dependent on the promotion? And should i look for other opportunities considering the YOE and current package?
I think the self-promotion to get promoted is a little odd. I've built my case the last 12 months. Watching people scramble to build s case in 2 weeks is laughable.
New to Deloitte, How is the promotion path defined to go from Solution Specialist(SS) to senior SS? Eg. how many years in SS should we work before asking/making our promotion case for SSS
People accepted counter offer and got higher pay and raise again. Should I also do this? Is it ethical? I’m in tax NYC office.
If I recently got a raise above 125k, how soon do the Roth IRA income limits apply? Is it after I submit a tax return of above 125k MAGI?
Can someone in CPI explain what raises/bonuses look like for an analyst? I’ve heard year 1 raise + Consultant promo raise in May. Is that the case?
got my first promotion ever and i feel meh. thought I’d be hyped about it.. is this normal lol
The PL on my case makes every feedback feel like a personal attack - not only towards me, but towards everyone else on the team. He is unpredictable and choleric - should I raise this topic in my...
Is your company doing annual raises this year? If so, what’s the typical annual raise (%)?
Having a tough time understanding non-tech leveling for jobs at Facebook. What level/pay band should someone align to with 8 years of b4 strategy experience in a non-tech program manager role? Base+bonus+RSU. Don’t know if location matters anymore but position is aligned to NYC.

TSA pre check at ORD T3 - splitting your line into a large one and a small one to get your ID checked does not speed up the process, and only slows down the process for the large one
What happens when a company gets acquired by a B4? Do we keep our benefits/salaries/levels at the new firm? HR is just talking blablabla and its hard to know what is really going on and what we should expect. TIA
I'm a senior finance major planning to take the CISA instead of the CFA/CPA so I can get to manager. What are the best CISA prep programs/books for a non-IT major?
Given a chance to go back in time and not major in accounting, would you take it? Why or why not?
So how do you feel the consulting life is impacting your wellness as you hop over the age of 40, I’m finding under Covid I’m much more healthy/lost weight etc.
So I got a new contract working remotely. No guarantee it will get renewed come December. However I'm tired of living in DC thinking about renting an air bnb in atl for a lil bit but unsure if I want to give up my apartment I have a 1 bed room den for 2100 900 sq ft which is unheard of. However the wharf area can get dangerous what should I do. Wait it out?
I'd love to connect with other elementary librarians to discuss lesson ideas, class management styles, etc.!

How do you guys take care of your parents back home . I am a single child living in USA . I don’t want to go back and it is getting tougher day by day .
Excited and nervous... I just accepted a role to be the first HR in a small multi state company. Any suggestions and advice from someone who has done this before?
Talking to a guy I met a while ago. Only have hung out once before to hook up. A year later he makes a reappearance. I’m taking it slow bc covid and bc I don’t want a one timer w him again. We did a couple FaceTime calls then went for a walk. He texted tonight asking to come over for wine. I jokingly asked if he was sure bc I didn’t see him for a year last time we did that. Dodged it this time, but how do you ladies hold off on sex? Not looking to have a sit down talk tho
Serious question though: what would it take to make a secession happen? Can there be a referendum or something? It’s clear that the country is so divided that I don’t know if it makes any sense to keep the union.
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

To hr professionals in finance..I’m considering getting an online certificate through Cornell in data/analytics. Worth it or do employers think it’s equivalent to Coursera?
Second year litigation associate deeply considering starting my own practice. I feel like the solo life, although difficult, would be more justified than working at a firm where all of my work is controlled and stifled. Thinking about doing property/insurance law, some family law, and debt defense. NY. Thoughts? Pros? Cons? Am I crazy?
