Anyone in dental sales?
I had interviewed with Deloitte UK consulting in June/July and was called by the HR team by the end of July that the interviews were positive and they're sending for approval for an offer to be rolled out. I was called back later in September and told that the role is on hold due to a hiring freeze. Is anyone else in this situation and have you'll heard back from the HR team post that

Is this really where we are now? Thankfully I recently left but geez what a fall (hail Booz!). McK brand is great (obviously) but at some point it comes down to the work and the exit options from strategy consulting and implementation are different. I would do some real long-term planning. Brand isn’t so much of a question here
McK implementation you still get to work on strategy! I love it because we’re encouraged to do both and requires to have the same skill set as a generalist associate. Don’t let the name fool you-we get the same types of jobs after and have the same prestigious name on your resume.
Can you speak to the career trajectory? What are the levels after consultant and what is the time at each level?
Also roughly how many hours do you work per week?
Echo others here. Depends what you want.
WLB - implementation is miles better.
Trajectory - not sure here
Projects - implementation is >50% org/transformation/change mgmt. S& better if you want strat.
Brand - McK for sure but I’d say this should be lower on the list than the 1st three
This is a hard one. I know S& is in a much better place today but there are many legacy influential PwC partners who don’t want it around and want it gone (I used to work at PwC in a practice that regularly worked with S&. Hell, PRTM still informally exists as a separate fiefdom) but yes if you are looking at exit options. S& might be more prestigious but will come at the cost of WLB
It didn’t go well from what I hear. And S& is no different
Mck for sure. Dude it’s McKinsey! What the hell is strategy&? Strategy and what?! No one knows strategy&.
No seriously I’m sure you can work on a strategy role within McKinsey or move internally down the line.
Spoken like two proud graduates of the Harvard extension school
S& is $150k salary. I don’t have the McK offer in hand but I got very good feedback in the final round so I’m optimistic. S& offer is expiring in a week.
I’d like to do Strategy consulting so that I could have good exit opps 5-6 years down the line but the McK brand is hard to pass up.
I’m curious which would provide better exit opportunities into leadership roles? Better pay over 5-6 years? How many hours do people work on average at these firms in the aforementioned practices?
This comment raises so many questions for me.
