Make sure you have a firm understanding of the current state - challenges and major opportunities. Knock off some low hanging fruit. Build concrete successes and advocates. Tools aren’t the answer to process - process and people are.
Also make sure you have support from senior management on anything you implement.
Microsoft Teams has eliminated a lot of back and forth emails for my team and has actually been very useful. Only problem is no matter which tools you use is actually getting your team to use them. Good luck!
☝️This. Make sure you take some time to understand the team, the dynamics and the problems you’re trying to solve. That will make it easier for you to see the way forward, and it’ll help you bring the team along with you when they see that you really “get it” and aren’t just throwing in processes and changes for changes’ sake.
Need help? I have experience writing agency process process and designing workflow.
PM tools are like diets....they all work in their own way, you n the team just gotta stick it out.
ugh stay away from slack. it’s truly the most unproductive platform ever. just use a pm tool (basecamp asana whatever) + gdrive.
