Should I shave my head or my face? I'm working as a Sr. Mgr. in advisory services for a boutique firm. I don't have much hair on my head so I usually shave both my head and face but I'm finding that it's taking too long in the AM. If I have to pick one or the other, which should I shave? Other considerations: I'm a pretty big guy (i.e., not skinny), if the suggestion is to grow a beard, how would that be viewed when meeting with executives or on a job interview.

Any suggestions?

Shave your head and grow a beard

Baldy here with a beard, never ever have had issues with higher ups or interviews. Just make sure to hit the barber to every now and then. It’s a great look for someone thinning/balding to adopt.

You shave whatever you want to shave. It’s not 1950. No one is forced to groom themselves to outdated white Anglo Saxon Protestant norms anymore.

Name the most ridiculous micro-managing by partners that you experience.

I’ll go first: MP told me that on initial emails, I am always to start with “Hello [name],” but after the initial email, I am not to address her by name again in the same thread. Initial greeting can only be “Hello [name] ” because just first name is too brisk and a “Hi [name]” is too informal. Had a 5 minute, in depth conversation as to why she prefers it this way…

The hostility on my team is rough. We have a yeller. I walked by her room the other day. She was screaming across the room at a student, "you have to be kind to get kindness." Seriously, those were her words in a loud, berating, angry tone. Our admin has asked that we not report these. We are to talk to the teacher. She has yelled at me and other adults. Admin has to know she treats the kids this way too. One teacher has to work with her door closed to not hear the yelling all day.

You certainly don’t make as much going into PA as a lawyer but the pay is certainly not bad and the WLB is generally much better.
