Hi, I belong to the corporate bowl but I have snuck in to ask if anyone would be interested in assisting the Ukranian Crisis Legal Aid organisation that has been set up by a Hungarian law firm to pair up refugees and lawyers. The website is https://ukrainelegalaid.org and it was set up by KNP LAW Nagy Koppany Lencs & Partners (who I am not affiliated with). This is all pro bono. Feel free to PM me, especially if you are English qualified!

By room. What happens if one couple breaks up. Will you end up paying more for the same thing?
Get your own place. Roommates are one thing, but two adult couples sharing a house is weird (unless that’s your sort of thing - not kink shaming here)
I don’t think they asked for your thoughts on living arrangements and what’s weird for you is perfectly normal for others.
100% by room. Maybe adjust the percentages if rooms differ significantly (a really nice primary suite and two basement bedrooms as an example). If you want to really nitpick maybe split consumption based utilities by person.
But my real opinion is that's too many people in a 3 bedroom house
Something in between? Maybe like 38/38/24. The single person pays a premium to have their own room, but it shouldn’t be half price for the couple since they still use the common areas and add to utilities (water/electric).
If the rooms are the same size then I’d do some kind of agreement that if a couple breaks up then the room price should equalize again (common areas will clear up and utilities will reduce).
I’d do a mix of the two. I think the couples should pay more than the single person because they are also taking up the common areas, but I don’t think it should be double what the single person pays. So maybe the single person pays $1000 and couples pay $1250. Lowest I’d go for single person is $900 and couples are paying $1300. Also depends on room size and if any have their own bathroom, etc.
By room. Rent should be adjusted by room size/features I.e. largest room pays the most.
If you want to get mathematical, figure out the square footage between bedroom and common area. Split the beds in 3 and the common by 5 to allocate rent. And then yes, have a backup plan already in place and agreed to by everyone for when they break up
How big are the rooms? 2 doubles and a single room = split by person. 3 double rooms = split by room.
Honestly just really a place to sleep and house a dog. I am only one working from home during day. My bf is a business owner so doesn’t do much besides collect money. Single person is out on the water working on boats most days. Other couple are on visas so work 12 hours a day 6/7 days a week at local business
How much is the dog going to be charged?
I had this dilemma once and we had an independent party come up with the pricing and we all agreed to go with what they say. Maybe in this scenario since it’s more of you have 3 people do it and average it out to ensure everyone agrees. I would split it by room (taking into account sq footage and en suite bathroom vs not, closet space, etc.) with the couples paying a bit extra beyond that for usage of common space
I’ve always done rent by room and utilities by person
That many people by bathroom. Other expenses by person.
Square footage percentage allocations. Common space is an even split. Bedrooms/private spaces are proportionate to room size. Internet and television are even per person splits. Electricity and other incremental utilities are allocated on an apportioned basis as well.
