Should two introverts marry each other?
I'm an introvert myself and met one person through an arranged marriage set-up who herself is introverted.
Previously,I had the notion that my better half would be someone who can cheer me up when I'm feeling low or loves talking so that there'll be no boredom.
But now I'm confused whether I should go ahead with this person or not because she is really understanding and our thoughts are aligned just that both of us are shy.
Need some genuine advice here.

My wife often calls me by 5:45/6 to ask where I am if I’m not headed home yet. Sometimes she’s stressed with kids/dogs/dinner and really wants me home. This really throws off my concentration because it makes me feel rushed. Like many practices sometimes I’m out at 5:30, other times it’s much later. Just depends and is unpredictable. Any advice on how to approach this?

My wife reads nearly an entire book per day just in her spare time after work, no exaggeration. I’m amazed by her and wondering what ideas are out there to monetize her skill? Book editing maybe?

Important question! Any strategies for getting out of work zoom happy hours? Other than ignoring requests and not showing up, which has been my MO so far. But it’s getting a bit awkward.

Do you think you and your significant other should have similar personalities? My significant other and I are doing long distance and I feel like when I FaceTime with him, I emote more and show interest by asking more questions but from his end, he doesn’t always have a reaction or just nods, and it makes me feel like he’s uninterested. On his end he sees it as he’s comfortable.

I work with a classroom of Middle School ED students. One student, who I worked with the year before, has changed alot over the year. Last year (pre COVID), she had a good head on her shoulders and I thought I had good rapor with her. But over that period of isolation, she tried to commit suicide.

All year, she was much more withdrawn and ALWAYS on her phone! At the end of the I was 'beat up by her - she really knocked my glasses off.

How should I approach her in the upcoming year?

My sister & I don’t get along because i feel she is extremely rude & prefers outsiders over family. My parents however, despite the fact that she disrespects them too, always say she is our daughter & we have to deal with it so just let her be. My mom thinks she is not in a good financial state so we should help her & I don’t want to given her disgusting behavior. Every time i buy something nice for myself, my mom kind of pushes me to buy for her too, and I don’t want to. Continued..

28, still haven't moved out of parents' home. Anyone else in similar situation?

I just came home sobbing because I got too drunk at my female best friends house and her husbands male friend tried to take advantage of me when we were left alone in a hot tub. My boyfriend didn’t ask if I was okay but instead screamed at me, threw things and left the house. Dumping him is the only logical answer?? Am I crazy?

In other words I'm flying home for Christmas and my mother just called to tell me that she just happened to accidentally run into the sweetest girl from her church that she just knows I'll get along with and accidentally invited her to our house for dinner the night that I get home. My wife is incredibly stressed out and unhappy in her career. It’s been affecting our marriage significantly. I just had a conversation with her where I asked her to stay home and I said I’ll fully support her. It seems like she took it well.

I was giving my kid the advice that the path you sometimes believe you are on is not necessarily where you will land, in a good way, and to stay open to those paths.

What did you THINK you were going to do when you started college, and what do you do today?

Feeling a deep void in close human connection after letting go a relationship that was lacking a future (I was interested in something more, he was unsure). Can’t stop thinking of reaching out and need strength to just stay with the loneliness and have hope for the better times. Would appreciate support.
