So embarrassing to just show up and hand someone your resume. Whoever you are speaking to gets the “ick” and lets you know it.
Oh man, back in the day we would physically print our portfolios. Or have CD-ROMs of our work as a leave behind.
Anyway, watch this video.

CD-ROMs? Hell, back in the day before “back in the day” it was 3/4” UMAT tapes!😜

It was a lower-than-broadcast quality but better-than-VHS video tape. Every agency producer used to have UMAT tape machines in their offices. Many creative directors and account sups, too.
About 6 months ago, we had a student show up at our building asking front desk security to let them up so they can hand off a resume. It was a Friday in the dead of winter and no one was there, so they called me and asked me to call the student and tell them that no one was available to meet with them in person and to apply online. The student then asked me if I could come in the next day (Sat) and give them a tour of the office. 💀 Had to bite my tongue so hard to stop myself from saying what I really wanted to!

You got the ick. Because they wanted a job?
