Seeing the general mediocrity (and yet astounding success and promotion) of white men in this business has made me jaded, cynical, and angry. How do you get through it?

Has it ever happened to you that while your teammates got promoted to the next level, you were denied for the promotion? If yes, how did you deal with it and how has it shaped your present?

What do you do when you’re severely underpaid as is (20K-30K at least), you’re anticipating a comp increase this year to at least bring you to the middle of the company’s salary range for your job, and then you end up getting a 3.5% raise? I try to train my mind to see the good in all things. But this is almost offensive. I know I’m doing a great job, and I’m always getting great feedback from senior leaders. I know my value. So won’t they pay what I know my job and my skill is worth?

Folks at Accenture UK - do our salaries go through market adjustments? I’m a L11 and wanted to understand if the next pay adjustment happens only at promotion to C1? This month’s payslip showed a further increase in NI and tax, I was hoping there are some yearly adjustments made to keep up with inflation?

So I’ve been at my current job for almost a year now and have not gotten a raise. It’s never even been a discussion. Throughout my time here, I’ve gotten little gifts like gift cards or cards and such but never a raise. Are the little gifts just to keep me happy so I don’t ask about a raise?
