So, recently I applied for a product designer L2 role at a fortune 500 company. I had a friend inside who works for this company so through him I was able to find out salary bands and to my shock the base package for L2 role of Software Engineer is 175K but for product designer it is 110K.

I had no idea there is such a huge gap and disparity for two roles. I am actually considering going back into software engineering. What are your thoughts on such disparity in salary?
