Such a classic! There's a video editor in our team who absolutely cannot meet a deadline. And all he does is make sure he makes it seem like someone else's fault. And the funniest part is that he always succeeds. Do you have people like this on your team? And how have they not gotten fired yet? :D

Working at a company and they can’t seem to hold on to their female, black and people of color employees. I blinked and 3 of the people who were in my onboarding class were either fired or they left. For context I’ve been in company less than a year and there are people who have been in the company 25yrs. I’m thinking of cutting loose before it gets to my turn.

Follow up post to my last post…My husband was laid off from the company where I also work. I am feeling really isolated / depressed about working and moving forward. This is twice now in back to back weeks my boss has asked me where the disconnect was in our communications because I didn’t deliver on what “was asked”, even though I know damn well what was asked and what was done were the same thing. I’m not sure if he’s changing the meaning or isn’t communicating what he’s envisioning or what but it’s embarrassing to be called out like that, and to have people think you’re the dumb 23 year old.

Why are people not good at ending zoom calls? I feel like I’m always the person who throws in the closing statement (I.e, ok well sounds good is that all? Have a nice day! This was helpful thanks Karyn..looks like we’re at top of the hour already) 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thoughts on “special” salary grades. I just found out the VP I was offered is not a grade 12 like most comparable roles (verified). Also not an 11, but an 11A. Slightly higher than an 11, a good bit lower than a 12. All due to the fact that it’s a leap from my current position. Why should that matter…..shouldn’t it pay what it should pay if I am selected, rather that curving down towards my current rate?
