Hey all - 2 years in consulting so far as a fairly "type b" personality - relaxed, uncompetitive, enjoy socializing with my colleagues. To be clear, this is not the same as being lazy or irresponsible - I am diligent and do my work well.

-Schedule a call with boss, on a Thursday since my last day I'm planning will be two Thursdays later
-On the call tell boss I'm resigning and thank for his leadership and the opportunity I've had
-Send the letter to him right after the call
-This is where it gets fuzzy... Do I go ahead and the send letter to HR as well? Do I tell other coworkers before official announcement goes out?

Biggest issue is not feeling safe enough to say what's on my mind at work. High levels of sass and sarcasm seem likely to get me fired. 🤔

Can’t decide on a job offer. Currently employed and have been wanting to do something different. The other job offer is pretty much what I make now but I’d be losing on a lot of PTO. At what point does “ego” stop mattering? Over the past 5 years I’ve worked my way to being an Account Manager, but ultimately my career goal is to work for the government. There’s an opportunity to be an admin assistant working for the government, and would be a nice way for me to get in and move up. But the title change from Account Manager to Assistant is a big deterrent. Logically I know that it doesn’t matter, but emotionally it’s hard to feel like I am taking a major career step back?

Does anyone know how to successfully transition from academia clinical research into industry clinical operations? I’m currently at a director level of a large research program in academia and oversee operations. Prior to that I was a clinical research coordinator with extensive trial experience from study startup-close out.
