You don't know that there aren't layoffs. Don't call anyone a troll. Stop telling them they must have sucked, not been staffed, had crappy ratings...etc.
Offer condolences. Use the information to speculate your odds of survival like its the hunger games.
Don't spread groundless rumors - either clearly state a question or offer facts / advice. It's a sensitive time for a lot of people from all levels, honesty and professionalism would be greatly appreciated to help inform and ease the anxiety going around...
