The most annoying part about making plans with friends who have boyfriends. They think it's okay to be late to everything. I've been sitting here waiting for 30 minutes for my friend and her boyfriend to show up to the dinner reservation that I made and I have an hour drive back home. I'm legitimately so pissed off.

I have no idea where to post this, but is a anyone else super weirded out by LinkedIn lately? All these pictures of people using their kids as props for parental leave, or how their kid has a disorder and how proud they are? I just came across a post that was a woman lying next to her mom who had *literally* just died. I feel a little cold hearted saying it, but it is so over the top on what is supposed to be a professional network. Am I just totally out of touch?

I can’t imagine going back to working in the office everyday without seeing my boyfriend and plants all day. Just the thought of that makes me miss them!

Comforting others:
When someone tells me bad news regarding their health, I say everything I am supposed to say (I’m sorry to hear that, I’m here for you, etc) EXCEPT “everything is going to be ok”. Because I can’t guarantee that and I really don’t know if everything is going to be ok. I was taken aback recently when a friend told me I am calloused and cold-hearted for not being able to say those words. Is she right? Should I start saying this for the purposes of providing comfort only??

It’s been 3 years since I (27F) moved to Seattle and still don’t have a solid social circle. Not necessarily a big group… I’m talking 3-4 friends who are easy going and not flakey/ hard to make plans with.

Made a career pivot to another agency. During the interview we talked about how it may start as initially a "step backwards" (pay/benefits) but has potential for more long term growth. My friend invited me to hang out with her and her friends because I was feeling very sad about my breakup. Three of her friends end up hitting on me and just really invading my personal space. I honestly thought they had a joke or game of some sort. I tell my friend it makes me uncomfortable because it’s not something I’m looking for atm.
