Has anyone dealt with coming to terms with an emotionally abusive relationship? I struggle to admit this (because more drastic examples come to mind), but my therapist mentioned that things like yelling/throwing things/blocking me from leaving the room are also abusive traits my ex demonstrated. I never do this but I need some objective advice. My wife is 5mo pregnant and my sister is getting married. I have pretty strong social phobia and am worried about making friends. I'm going to be working for an engineering company so I imagine I don't have to be really up on the latest trends or anything but how can I talk to people without making it sound unnatural?

My wife often calls me by 5:45/6 to ask where I am if I’m not headed home yet. Sometimes she’s stressed with kids/dogs/dinner and really wants me home. This really throws off my concentration because it makes me feel rushed. Like many practices sometimes I’m out at 5:30, other times it’s much later. Just depends and is unpredictable. What are parents paying for baby sitters these days? Wife and I going out tonight for about 3-4 hours and have a local college student babysitting our toddler daughter tonight. Going through a terrible breakup. Whenever I wake up, either in the morning or from a nap, I immediately uncontrollably cry because of the immediate thought that he is no longer next to me. The worst part is that we’re living together still (not talking or sleeping in the same room). I can’t even imagine what it will be like when we can finally break our lease. Does this feeling ever end?

Had another dream about my ex. I asked him questions on why he changed. He answered just let go. I think now my brain is finally starting to fully acknowledge there is only one path forward.
