I'm frustrated as fuck - like 3 drivers have cancelled on me. I've been waiting at EWR for like 20 mins just to get a ride
What have you noticed? For me the app is just stupid and never knows my location.
What did you do to get banned, ACN?
The problem is these fucking drivers call you and ask where you are going. That shit pisses me off because if they don't want to take you then they just cancel. Whatever happened to uber being uber rather then these folks putting themselves on a high🐴 . It's sad because it use to be awesome and yes the GPS blows!
SPG points + loyalty program will keep me
I always argue the cancelation fee and it's good to go after.
It's also on the Uber app under FAQ
Uber app's Pool routes have sucked shit recently and I have tons of drivers cancel on me, plus the timing is off and half the time, the driver is about to leave after a 2 min waiting period when my app says they are just arriving
@D3, I've never had any problems with Uber Black/Select in Denver. UberX is not worth the headache while traveling for business, with canceled rides, cars smelling like weed, etc.
Banned for life from lyft :( I hate using Uber
Deleted the app. Location is always wrong, drivers don't come to address I put in since location is wrong, don't know where they are going, app charges me to cancel....
Well well well. It is not Uber when we factor the common denominator of the above complaints. It is the shitty EWR or East Coast at a macro level. Never had an issue Mid West, Mountain or West Coast?
DC1: Uber in Denver is horrible. I thought it was just me until a friend that works for Uber told me it's the worst run market in the country. Bad drivers, cars, etc.
OP I fly through EWR and take Uber weekly and I've never had problems of getting cancelled on. Do you live close to EWR (i.e., less than $20 fares)?
I hate the cancelation fee. I've had instances where I clicked cancel right as they found me a driver and still charged me even tho it was under 5 mins. We don't get compensated when drivers cancel on us! They also have the WORST time getting to the airport. why does it matter if you can't call me immediately after I book you? You're 30 minutes away from the airport and I just got off the plane and need to pee!
Those of you having trouble getting rides, do you know what your passenger rating is based on how past drivers have rated you? A low rating might explain some of these behaviors from the drivers. Email Uber customer service or ask your next driver and they can tell you your rating.
I'm 4.8
I have a 4.91 rating so it's definitely not me. And my fare is between 30 and 40 from EWR so not that short. It was a very frustrating wait - 1 guy called to ask me to cancel because he only wanted to go into NYC. I told him that I absolutely would not cancel and either he could cancel the ride or drive me to my destination. This other guy cancelled after making me wait 10 mins for him.
I'm sorry I don't have any more ideas. I can only say I've never had these bad experiences taking Uber at EWR and surrounding area. But I'm leery of the pattern reported here by others, as I've always liked being able to use Amex points to pay for rides.
K2 - I hope maybe after the holiday rush, there's a more positive set of experiences. But I'm looking for alternatives now
