There was a time in my life where I would get a very visible tattoo every quarter to see how my leadership team would react to them.

My manager micro manages everything I do, and I’m losing my mind. Wanted to see how any of you have handled a manager like this, and get some advice on how to tell them to literally stop.

How not to take as personal if your manager blast in group of people even for small mistake or not even considerable as mistake.

Any thoughts on how do we deal with an incompetent boss who you dont look up to and have no trust that you would ever get credit for the work you would do for him/her? Given that changing the boss is not an option.

Is there a corporate way to bring up to senior leaders that an IC is causing issues across multiple teams because they are demanding and also doesn’t collaborate well? The IC gives vague “direction” then says they are too busy to clarify. They also refuse to use our project management/ collaboration tools.

I have a new direct report who’s at producer level and needs a lot of hand holding. I’ve been her manager for 6 months and she has yet to do anything without me telling her. I worked at LinkedIn and one of the senior leaders was sharing screen during a meeting. The conversation shifted but the leader didn’t stop sharing screen. This person navigated to Yahoo news and clicked on an article filled with women in bikinis. This individual spent a solid 2-3 mins on the article scrolling and stopping to look at each woman. Needless to say this leader was very distracted by other things on our call.

Why is that instead of having accountability for things that aren’t fair, women resort to calling men incels

Hi-I have 120K in cash in HYSA. After keeping emergency fund aside. Still have 75-80K available that I plan to invest. After 401k, HSA, IRA and monthly expenses: we are left with 6K every month. So investing 12K every month in market. My worry is with that rate - it will take us 12-14 months to move the extra 75-80K mentioned above. However do not want to make a bulk move. A ways back, I was grabbing coffee in the Financial District when the young woman ringing me up said, “…you have all those tattoos and a septum piercing and you work around here?” I nodded “yes,” and said that I worked in tech. She was amazed that a woman that looked like me could get hired and work in a professional setting. I think it gave her confidence that she could do it too.

Used to be a cop that wasn’t allowed to have visible tattoos. Now I have 5 (only two visible) 🙃.
