I was selected in TCS in May 2022. Had accepted the offer but didn't complete further process(BGV and all). Now I am getting innumerous numbers of calls daily from TCS to attend the interview. So I attended one yesterday and got selected as well. Now they're asking me to complete profile on TCS ibegin portal. But it is saying duplicate profile found(due to PAN no.) as I had already accepted offer few months back from some different email id. And my profile is still there in the system. What should I do?

My parents did it for me. My Amex card says I’ve been a member since 1983. So they did it way earlier than high school for me. I also got a highly supervised card in high school as well.
My parents did it for me. Put a low credit limit on it. Tell them to use only for gas money.
My partners family have bad credit scores - she added them all to her credit card and cut up the cards so they can't use them. Their credit scores at in the 700s and don't own their own CCs, loans or anything.

My wife's score has always been better than mine because her family did this. I think when she was in high school she started carrying the card but her dad would also review every charge so she didn't abuse it.
I'm not sure a kid needs to build the habit of using a credit card but it is good to teach them how to use money responsibly and make sure all bills are paid monthly. Some Banks or credit unions have kids accounts with a debit card that are no fee and maybe even have like a $25 bonus. That is our plan for our kids and we'll start younger but with small dollars. If we add them as AUs to a CC we probably wouldn't give them the card until they are driving and we can send them out to run errands for us.
Thanks! They have a savings account and have been learning about budgeting & saving since they were pretty young.
It's a great point about not giving the card until later--I was thinking the same thing but thinking they didn't need the card until they have a steady income of their own (actual job, not odd jobs).
Parents did this with my sister, and it significantly helped her credit score. Overall, I think it’s a very positive thing to do.

Parents did it for me when I went to college for emergencies and a few regular expenses. Rarely used it, but it showed up on my credit report and helped give me a longer credit history. Made it easy to get my own card a few years later.

My parents added me to their MasterCard when I was in high school for emergencies. I never used it until I went to college and used it for groceries. It still shows up on my credit report though 15+ years later. On your credit report It will show the date the card was OPENED as the start date of the credit… so for me it shows the mid-90’s even those I was still in elementary school and definitely not an authorized user at that time. You just inherit the whole credit history.
And would it work if I did the same thing for a friend's child? Obviously a different set of considerations with that and can imagine how it could get sticky, but setting that aside, would it technically work?

I don’t see any reason it wouldn’t since it’s about having the card rather than your relationship to the person.
That could go all kinds of wrong though. Is there a reason your friend can’t do this for their child?
I don’t know if you need to plan this out so early. I’m at 790+ and have only lived in the US for 4 years, before that had 0 history
From what I understand it will go to their credit history as long as the card has been open, regardless of when they’re added.
My sister has a longer credit history than she is years old because she’s on one my parent’s cards.
My parents did this for me in 9th grade. Not only did it help build credit but also good personal spending habits because I knew it would be monitored by them.
Also the points add up!
Yes - my dad did this for my brother and I when we were in college to pay for books, groceries and emergencies. We both have great credit scores
