I don't hate industry. I miss certain aspects of public (Casual dress, a lot of autonomy, ability to work from home when not at a client on occasion) but overall I'm glad I'm gone (I got a raise and work 40 hour weeks, I have room for growth and work with smart people).
People in public will tell you industry is terrible in order to get you to stay. As with any job, there are good companies and bad ones, good bosses and bad ones, and jobs that are challenging and ones that are dull.
The annual raises in public were nice. However, the pay in industry is competitive and you can gain promotions and apply for other jobs. Also, salary negotiation is a real thing outside of public.
I hate industry because I have just as much work with non of the benefits you would get from public (flexibility, work from home, paid meals). People are also nowhere close to culture at public (I liked the people and culture). Work is also super repetitive and boring. Like moss Adams 1 said though it depends on the job. I know others who love industry. Just be careful and know what you're getting yourself into
