In-house is just as much of an ad industry problem as it is a client problem. We leave to do better work, they hire us to do it in half the time. Then industry suffers. Then BFG closes.

Question on changing roles: a friend of mine did not pass the final round at BCG for an associate position, due to not having as much relevant experience as the other candidates. However, they are interested in him and will likely offer him a research position. Does anybody know whether it is likely that you can switch from a research role to a consulting role? I am interested in pivoting from an agency into a traditional business consultancy role. I have start-up tech experience and four years of Strategy experience for media clients.
