Thinking of moving to pwc, what is the wealth builder? Like why dont they just use a traditional 401k? What are important facts about it?

Wealth builder is just a separate 401K. Instead of having to contribute yourself and then having the firm match it, they just give you a contribution, regardless of whether or not you contribute yourself. On top of that they offer a normal 401K which you contribute to and they match 25% on the first 6%.

like

They use both, 25% match of first 6% for 401k and 3% for wealth builder (no need to do anything), 5 years to fully vest

Think of it like a long term bonus to stay in ADDITION to 401k and all the other goodies

One thing to add - the percentage goes up as your tenure and role increase. I want to say it's 7-8 percent once you've been there a while and are a senior manager / director.

What should I do with my 401k if I am leaving Deloitte? The fund my 401k is in has a very low fee of .01%, so I would like to leave it, but I can’t find any info on if there will be larger fees after I leave.

I’m a 28F who is barely getting into investing. It’s frustrating that it took this long but as a first gen college grad, my parents didn’t know anything about this stuff until very recently, so naturally I was never taught about it. It’s crazy to see people younger than me with all this knowledge on saving and investing. How did you learn so much at such a young age? Any advice for someone like me who is starting out so late in the game?

I’ve been told by my firm that I need to get a corporate amex card. I’m new to consulting- can I still use my own credit card to get the points and expense that way? If it’s the corporate card can I still get points for it also or does it only go to EYP? Curious to know if a corporate amex is even a good thing or the benefits for it. Thanks!

Asking for personal finance help. I’m contributing about $7.5k/year to my 401k based on my budget/spending. About to get lump sum of cash (sold car, tax returns, stimulus). Was thinking of just putting a little aside in cash for rainy day and invest the rest in brokerage acct., but would it make more sense to max out my 401k for tax purposes and use the lump sum as spending $ until it runs out? Currently 27 yr old, 73k salary in NYC, no debt, $10k in EM fund, maxed out Roth IRA for 2021. TIA

I am 24 years old and the advice I have been given is to max out my IRA and 401k before investing into a taxable brokerage account. If I do not plan on working until I am 59 1/2, is this sound advice since there is a 10% penalty of early withdrawals for both accounts?

My wife makes 112k and I make 70k in NYC. She plans to go to law school in 18 months. She is very smart and so I believe she will get a scholarship. But assuming worst case scenario, we will take on debt to pay tuition (180k). My question is should we still fund our Roth 401k this year as we have in the past or stop funding it to save for Law school to decrease student loans? I believe post law school she will make 200k (big law) and I should be at around 100k.
