This is a weird one… I need to professionally *slay* at husband’s firm holiday party. I interviewed with them a few years back for an MD role and they (very rudely) implied that I wasn’t senior enough, then offered me a role making almost $100k less than I was at the time. I’m now a managing partner leading my own firm’s office in town. What would you wear? I usually go feminine festive, but leaning more towards statement pants and a top with killer heels. Small firm (my boss, me, & a paralegal). After a hearing I did not handle, boss intended to seek review of the ruling in its entirety. What was communicated to me by paralegal was to seek review of a portion.

I'm a cashier. We just got a new manager, and she's making things really hard for us. She starts work at 4:30am and leaves around 2:30pm, but she still expects us to stay until 6pm and work on the weekends! She gives us really long shifts and doesn't give us much time for breaks. And when we ask her about it, she gets mad.

I'm worried that if I speak up, she'll make my life even harder. I don't want to lose my job because of this—do you guys have any advice?

I’m not from an English speaking country but I am watching a tv show and businessmen walk into a room and instead of greeting eachother, everyone says each person’s first name in lieu of hi, however in my experience working in the states, I haven’t seen anyone do this, it’s always hi or good afternoon or some other greeting first THEN they say their first name. is it also appropriate to omit the greeting?

Need some advice here…I’m about 3 months in and a senior male associate told me to just google it when I asked him a question. I told him that hurt my feelings. I am only 4 months into being a surgical coordinator. I love the position itself however I am struggling to adapt into my new work environment. My position puts me in a place where I need to interact with my new coworkers but they are not as welcoming as I expected.
