Thoughts on Dentsu Aegis? I've received an offer for a role (promotion) and thinking about whether it is a sound move - especially in this environment. They went through furloughs and pay cuts in April due to COVID. I'd be making the move from EY which is a great company to work with - but there is such a long line up to get a promotion, and for roles I've interviewed for internally I get the good ole - you were awesome and it was rly close, but someone was just a better fit.

Depends on what you want in life, really. You can move on from DA after couple years into another company with a promoted title. It’s gonna be very different from EY for sure, but they are also a consulting type, just in advertising, so whenever clients drop out they cut the staff. What is the role they are offering?

With all of the mergers it’s hard to say but when I was at Mcgarrybowen, Dentsu were very fair and competent. I don’t have any affiliation nor context with the Aegis merger but would give a thumbs up for Dentsu. Good luck!!

Advice needed: I’ve been in a long distance relationship for a while. Things are generally going well but when it comes to traveling to see each other I’m always the one making more of the effort to go to him. I understand his job isn’t as flexible but even when it was during Covid he had an excuse and I would be the one going to see him and spending weeks leaving behind my day to day to spend time with him. Am I wrong for wanting more effort and flexibility on his end?

What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?
