Thoughts on ‘power dressing’ and confidence? I’ve always believed in “dress for the job you want,” but recently, I’ve started wondering where the line is between confident and over-the-top. On days when I wear a tailored blazer, heels, or even a bold color, I feel unstoppable—like I own the room. But once, a coworker joked, “Wow, big presentation today?” when I was just dressed for a regular meeting, and it made me second-guess myself. Does power dressing actually help with perception and confidence, or is it all in my head? And how do you balance standing out versus blending in at work?

Have you seen women wear ties and "masculine"-looking suits to work? Was it accepted by client and team? I've never worn a tie to work, but when I've worn clothing that had a more "masculine" fit either in grad school or some work environments, I've gotten comments and looks, or sometimes asked (or people gossiped) about my orientation. When I wear more "feminine"-looking clothing, I feel more more uncomfortable and awkward. 🤷🏼‍♀️

What do you do when you feel stuck and unappreciated in your company? You love the work but it goes unrecognised no matter how much value you provide and not rewarded fairly.

I need some advice. I have some co workers that are really disgruntled and complain about their jobs a lot to me. It really bring me down and makes it hard for me to work because I get constant messages about how much they hate it here. I’m friends with them outside of work so I don’t want to explode on them. Hello, I have a question that needs your inputs how to handle. I am working with a post-MBA Associate on a project and this person seems to do extra work beyond what the team is asking the rest of us to do. I think during our conversations with the leadership, there were a couple of points that were brought up by the MD but that was not a concrete directive that we need to do because if it is, I would know about it from the chain email since I am staffed to the project.
