Pure hard work. I mean luck doesn't really work in our favor here.
Both it’s a learning curve finding your niche in the civilian world. I have managed to stay in the DoD bubble on the contractor side.
Honestly? Luck. I worked under a few people that gave me huge recommendations. I don't consider myself an outstanding worker, doing just what's asked of me and never beyond that. I'm just thankful for where I am now.
A mix
Hard work, being a veteran did not tip any scales. Luck… I’d say applying to the right job at the right time and willing to take risks helped out too.
