I’ve done it!
My partner is an attorney and loves their firm and is treated very well. Definitely a fluke, sorry you had to go through that!
I had to quit the day of without notice to my old job because of the no competition clauses with a new company I got hired at, it was VERY satisfying
Pretty standard in the trading world, the idea is you have sensitive competitive market data that will become stale after the garden leave.
I've done it, when it became obvious that the night audit position was actually laundry.
Yes. Someone at my job went to lunch and never came back.
They’ve been listening to our queen, Beyoncé.
Okay so boom… I worked for this nonprofit years ago. A guy quit after a week. He literally walked in one day, to grab something he left at the office, and said.. “aight y’all I’m out. It’s been real!” And never came back. The bosses called him and he never answered them.
Yeah, I was working for a tiny company and she burst into tears, stormed out, then was $0.25 short of her bus fare and had to come borrow a quarter from one of us. It was… hard to watch.
The walk of shame she had to do 🫡
God bless them !! My hero !
Yes. And they were a contractor for someone on mat leave. Needless to say, the team survived without them but it was still shocking.
I've never seen it. Notice periods in my country are from 2 weeks to 6 months, depending how long the employment has lasted. However there's a probation period of 3-4 months in the beginning when notice period does not apply.
Yes
Sounds like a dream come true
I did it after working in a job for nine days. Best decision ever.
My husband did it. Stressful but, very satisfying.
I did it. Don’t regret it for one second - it was an abuse and bullying environment. My actions actually opened an investigation into company practices
At a past job we had talk cubicles. During my break, someone got a phone call that pushed them over the edge, took off headset and left. Later that day someone asked me “did you see?” I never got the full scoop. The coworker never came back.
I witnessed a co-worker quit on the last day of training.
She didn't want to get on the phone which was the main job requirement aside from emails. It was crazy!
That’s moronic. Did she not look at the job description when she applied
I’ve done this. Often it’s due to being placed on a PIP. You don’t owe an employer a two week notice if they go as far to putting you on a PIP. No longer put up with nonsense and abuse from terrible managers
Yes! Glad he did. Partners were super toxic and affecting his mental health.
Yes! A partner at my firm did that and took his book of business. It was wild
I’ve done this quite a few times… Mostly for personal reasons I’ve had to sort out and I don’t really know anywhere I want to settle although I do have the intentions to do so now… I can’t guarantee anything because I don’t like to assume I can know my own future… Best thing to do is try your best until you can no longer take anymore (my old strategy) but my new strategy is to push past limits and keep going until they don’t need you anymore hahaha (we’re always learning) and I hope I have more to add to this soon
