Was called a racial slur by my boss. I am a black male in my 30s and have dealt with my fair share of racism, but never in the workplace. This boss is a veteran and he's been known to confront other workers here. Should I start documenting everything before filing a lawsuit or should I report this immediately?

You should probably try to secure some evidence or witnesses before escalating the issue. It'll go a long way in helping your case

Document everything that you can. You're going to need it if you want to get anywhere with your case

As you said yourself, he is a veteran, he documents what happens, and when you have 2 or 3 pieces of evidence, to denounce what is happening, you cannot deal with racists.

It is a very sensitive issue, I believe that no one should be a victim of racism, go to your superior and report it immediately

Here's a question, I see that you can apply to jobs with just your resume, and there isn't an opportunity to include a cover letter. This astounds me because that's really where a business can learn your values and what you can offer them. Does anyone recommend a way around this? I thought about uploading a two page resume with the cover letter included. It seems a loss not to include that edge.
