Big 10 - yes
At Stanford, a lot of my peers were "MBB-or-bust," meaning that if they struck out of MBB, they wouldn't even bother applying to T2s (much less B4) and would instead try to do something completely different, e.g. a startup, bizops, etc.
Absolutely not nor would most of the people there care. I just wanted more money for the same job and knew B4 existed from my previous role.
Was considered above average for sure, and people in my undergrad were quite happy to end up in B4 (consulting branch). Went to top 3 in Canada. Work at T2 in Europe.

For me? Yes. It was the best job one could get
100%. And i work with smart people. As has been stated, prestige is a stupid metric.
Never heard of any of the big 4 while I was in school at Penn State. Didn’t even know consulting as an industry even existed. Honestly didn’t learn the names of the other big 4 firms (or that big 4 was even a thing) until I was here for 3 years (9 total YOE), and even that was from joining FB. If I had never joined FB I’d likely still not know
I was a criminal justice major for undergrad, then military
Top 10 - didn’t even know what MBB or Big4 was. Still maintain that it doesn’t matter.

At my liberal arts college, B4 was by far the most common postgrad job, though most people went into audit/advisory. I had never heard of any T2 firm outside of OW (for some reason) and barely even knew what consulting was until after I graduated. Most of peers went into BB banking though for what it’s worth.
Yes - went to a state school. It was hella pushed as a great thing you could be doing, not least because of their generous donations to campus 😂
