Read back your own post - you’re asking about tips about investing “for the long term” and then you proceed to worry about a short term correction...
Sorry I'm an ETF novice. But Even for longer term, I would prefer to buy something at cheaper valuation. Currently most valuations were very high. This week correction was good but not sure if there would be another one after midterms.
Don't try to time the market, just dollar cost average your contributions routinely and stick to it. In the long term - which is decades, not years - you'll be fine.
