For fires you can use materials that are ignition resistant. For security against intruders you can fence your yard, install security cameras, installation of motion lights and buy a dog. It really makes a difference having dogs in the house for security reasons. Also, don't put boulders around your windows because it will give intruders a step tool.

Don't buy a house in an area where you feel you need to harden it.

Otherwise, just don't go out of your way to attract theft. Beyond that, not much you can do to make an actual difference. It's more psychological than anything else.

I just got rid of my house and went back to renting, it’s a money pit and when everything breaks down and no money except a va pension to fix it, well, never again is all I gotta say about that really.

As always it depends on location, HYPER LOCAL location

Bought first property in August 2020. Bought second property in January 2022. Already on the hunt for a third unit when the right deal comes along!
What kind of numbers do you look for in a short term rental? My rule of thumb is an average nightly rate of .1% of purchase price. So far we have stayed under $175k with each place and for 2021 averaged $178 per night with 63% occupancy for the year.

Hi All

I am getting 45k monthly and 10% tds is being deducted at source so after tds I would get 40,500 Rs. However, I am making my work done from someone else and paying him 30k. I am left with 15k each month. What should I do to save this unnecessary tax I paid? Please help.

I was paid a retention bonus last year which I have to return - couple of questions: Will I get a corrected W2 ? If yes, how much time does it generally to generate a corrected W2? Should I wait for corrected W2 to file the return ? (with the current comp - I owe taxes however with the W2C - I will probably not..) thoughts??

Employer is trying to force me (disabled using a walker and immunocompromised) to return to work at the office after WFH efficiently (covering 2 roles!) For 2 years. I actually can't even do my job from the office. Office isn't ADA compliant and my walker doesn't fit. Some employees aren't vaxxed and mask mandates are being removed. I've been fighting this order loudly. And now I have to meet with the CEO, HR and my supervisor. Wish I could leave, but I don't have a new job lined up.

Hello! It seems this bowl is not very active but I'd like it to be. So here's my story: Born & raised in PR, moved to CA for undergrad & have been here since then. I graduated from law school in 2019, followed by a 2 yr bk clerkship. I did the evening program. I really enjoyed law school, in spite of the microaggressions, the late nights, & crazy competition. Love all things diversity in the law. Anyway, currently looking for a position in NYC/DC area. 🤗

All year, she was much more withdrawn and ALWAYS on her phone! At the end of the I was 'beat up by her - she really knocked my glasses off.
