Plus agencies have matching levels of openings in different groups or different brands. It’s probably just a matter of slotting you in the right job.
Nop. They are trying to figure out your skills and background, and where you fit best (accts you will work on)
There may be multiple positions open across different accounts. They want to see which account is best fit. Or if you’re a good fit for the agency in general. Good luck
What would possibly be the benefit to them by stringing you along? Wasting their own time setting up meetings w/you? Ur fuckin mint, don't worry so much.
And trying to see if they actually have the work. Happens
Also to add to the above notes, often times when there are open roles, new biz wins, etc. it gives department heads the opportunity to shift existing staffing around.
So hypothetically the agency just won Hershey’s and Hershey’s has a senior strategist position open on their staff plan, it doesn’t necessarily mean the new hire will be on Hershey’s. Department heads may take the moment to look at their department to see if a currently employed senior strat that’s worked on another piece of business for a while is ready for a change up (which means they’re unsure if you’ll work on Hershey’s or the old Sr strats account), they may see if a current mid level is ready for a promo to move into that role (which means they need to hire for mid vs senior).
Depending on why the role is open and the state of affairs in the rest of the department, a larger shift and stitching together of different puzzle pieces might be happening. Nothing bad, but truly just can’t tell you until those pieces get fit together
