Hi, wondering what gifts, if any, you have received from clients after completing their divorces. I am a big law attorney currently getting divorced in a messy proceeding, and once it’s over (god willing in this lifetime) I’d like to give my attorney and the paralegal who worked on my case a gift. One of the most frustrating things is having the partner “de-prioritize” your deal. They stop responding to questions, take forever to review things you’ve sent them and act annoyed when you try to follow-up. Does anyone else experience this?

I am a current PE associate who was placed by CPI in 2021. I want to lateral to another PE firm but soooo many PE firms use CPI as their headhunter. CPI is contractually prohibited from sending me lateral opportunities because my firm is a CPI client (and CPI would lose their commission if I left before my 1 year was up). How do you handle micro managers? I’m a second year transactional associate and for the most part the partners and senior associates I work for trust me to get the work done.
