I jumped from 80k to 120k with my first career jump. This was after 1 year of experience. Don’t let the haters dissuade you. It’s hard but not impossible.
2 years out of school and the expectation is 120k? Wow. Times are changing fast. I shudder to think of what people born in the 2000's will expect freshly out of school.
Yeah well rent is more than a nickel and potato these days.
I’ve actually run the numbers, and with all of our travel points, food covered during the week (I used 50/day) and what not, we make an extra $17,800 (+/- 5K depending on where you travel/project budget). Considering your salary as a BA 2 should really be 85-90 (82 is too low), you’re looking at 97.8-112.8 in TC. To hit 120, you’ll need an average raise of 12.25%. So no, not unreasonable.
Almost every BTA I know is around 82.5-84 right now. Really appreciate you running the numbers for me this is very helpful!
Here for all the angry people unable to detect a joke
It’s not a joke. My analyst friend just left for salesforce NY for 120k and another at American Express for 120k
I did the same, from 75k to 120k in my first jump when I moved to NYC
Thats over 50%
Pls fix
I only jumped $15k after my first year as an analyst, with a really strong review if that’s any perspective
NY law now is that the employer cannot ask you for previous salary info... Wait for them to offer first as might be more than you were expecting...
But I don’t think you’re obligated to tell them. I always refuse to. Pay me what the job is worth.
I went from 85k to ~185k in the bay after 3 years at a FAANG. I think it's doable at the right place
Went from 80K to 140K at a FAANG job after 1 year of work experience as a BA. Definitely doable
BA at Deloitte? Any tips on leveraging the experience? Currently I work building machine learning models and doing statistical analysis (forecasting or general analytics) for clients
Maybe I misworded the question, I meant as an exit to a new job
Sorry. Then yes reasonable. Depends on years. I did it also
I jumped from 80 to 110 after 1 year experience, this was 5 years ago. But my skill set was super in demand, more jobs then people then
I was 1 year out of undergrad 👍🏼
My last jump was 60%. Possible, but not probable for someone with 1 YOE
I think it’s totally possible. However, it depends on skill set and COL in the area you’re trying to join
I think it’s totally possible. However, it depends on skill set and COL in the area you’re trying to join. It’ll be easier to get $120 in NY or SF. Than maybe someplace like ATL
Definitely doable, I got an offer of this magnitude in the past. Just focus on your connections. It’s harder to get this randomly recruiting online. Use your network and go somewhere where they understand and need the value u bring.
Go for it, I have heard stories of multiple people reaching this comp after 2 years … just be strategic with your exit
