I would miss the autonomy (setting my own schedule and type of client I see) and the direct client interactions. Their life stories bring so much perspective to my little world in ways that no other job could.
Not a therapist, but my answer would be similar. I didn't enter this field for money or accolades. I did it because I have a passion for people and a deep desire to give back to the world in some way. Making a difference in someone's life is the most incredible feeling on earth. Worth its weight in gold for sure.
I agree with the direct impact take. It's one reason I stay in the field, but I wouldn't mind trying something else out. I think it's important to remember that we impact each other's lives all the time, we just can't see it.
Helping people for sure. I just feel like I can see the diffrence I make in my clients and I wouldn't get that in another role.
I would honestly really miss my clients. Some of them feel like family at this point. I have clients that I have been seeing for 10+ years.
Clients for sure. Also being therapist is a pretty easy going job. I hear my friends complain about their long work days often. I get to control my schedule.
