Yes you should care. A good % is largely based on how it’s calculated or you’re going to have wildly different answers

You should be above your peer average at least. Each rank has their own utz target, so check with your counselor. I’d say 80-90% should be your overall goal depending on your service line.

Oh look you’re still being unhelpful.

This depends on your company, level, and practice - it can vary widely.

I feel like based on your title you are in audit... I was in audit for 3.5 years and nobody ever cared about my utilization. Not when it was too low, not when it was 160%.

likehelpful

I say 85-90 is the good utilisation percentage. And yes, unless you are son of managing director or best friend with the key partner the utilisation is an integral part of consulting

helpful

Yes, you should care. Flags are way up with Finance, when anyone goes below 80-85%.

Monthly

Um..... CARE.

I would shoot for minimum 95%

@D1 Goddamn you’re miserable

hey, I joined Deloitte in June 2020 as an GPS SA analyst, I just staffed on internal project only providing me adjusted utilization. Now my standard util is 40 and my adjusted is 105... and this project last in another month... by then my standard util might be 20.. will my promotion be affected by this? My target promotion year on TOD is 2022. My manager said we might sell to client and extend this project in September but nothing guaranteed.
