Investing in crypto is fun again :)
Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?

Less stress. You know your job, your team, the expectations. You’re respected as a SME. You don’t have to go and prove yourself all over again.
My dad was like this and I didn’t understand it until I had a family (I’m not like this, but I get it now). Moving up requires more time commitment, and until you’re near the top there’s a lot of risk too (since you’re so expensive). Do I want an extra 10 hours/wk to spend with family now? No, but when my kids are old enough I’d like to be active in their lives, so there will come a point that I too will say that my level is high enough.

Top IC roles at tech companies top out at ~$450k total comp, and at Fortune 500 companies a highly paid engineer could probably get a total comp of ~$200k.
Of course being in the exact same role at the same company for a decade will put you in big trouble if you get laid off (outdated skills). But the money is still pretty good.
