What's this b.s. about 50hr utilization target in advisory? Is the business doing bad and they expect us to make up for it?

Controversial question - what are some roles/functions to avoid at Google for ex-management consultants, in terms of potential under-utilization of skills and limited career progression? Common exit opps tend to be in StratOps, PMM, PgM/Solutions Consultant, roles in Sales; would anyone not recommend any of these roles?

I’m struggling. I left an agency I liked last year due to growth limitations and since then I’ve worked at 2 different agencies and can’t seem to find my footing. So apparently accenture is making people who are on the bench enroll into a mandatory customer service role even if you’re 100% utilized. Friend took 3 weeks of PTO and has been on the bench for a few days and he is being forced. Worst part? It’s Tues-Saturday.

Do you pay your credit cards in full every month?

Amid this crisis, are companies including other big 3, MBB, FAANG, boutique consulting firms still giving high raises and issue stocks? Can you share the impact from your firm?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
