My wife was informed a few weeks ago that she would be laid off as of end of year. She signed the paperwork and will be receiving a decent severance due to her tenure there. Now the company is saying they may have some other work for her to do for a few months and they could extend her contract if interested. If she says no, is she still eligible for her severance since she already signed her paperwork?
When it comes down to it, is it true that the amount you are unassigned or if any of your teammates are unwilling to give you any work when asked is a good indicator of getting fired in the near futur
If anybody is impacted by the KPMG layoffs today let me know if you want to discuss new opportunities
Hearing stories of layoffs at Crowe Horwath. All in Risk and all senior level and above. Anybody here affected/know more?
Caught in round of layoffs. Hard finding fulltime, it was easier when I was younger. I’m 40 but I look 30 (lucky with good genes). Would it be crazy if I cut my resume in half and pretended to be 30?
Margaret Burke: you're fired!
Got laid off a week ago and have been slow to get back on the hunt. I feel so demoralized and depressed. This is the worst season to be unemployed. I can’t seem to get a fire in myself again
So if I'm correct, PwC is the only Big Four that hasn't done a huge round of covid layoffs so far?
Lay-offs! Which firms are doing them? Accenture Strategy had big layoffs in 2016 but were doing well as of 2018. How about your respective firms?
What are the details around the Deloitte layoffs? Any particular methodology to letting people go?
If you get fired from big law, how likely is a firm to be vindictive re recommendations etc
What is your experience with counter offers? Did you accepted and stayed? I read that most people either leave or get fired shortly after. Thoughts please.
Anyone from amazon that can share their impression of Joshua Burgin? Seems that he was fired from amazon for discrimination and my company just hired him as a GM 🙄 does that check out? What happened there?
How do you roll with the punches? When I make even a small mistake that anyone could make my mind immediately goes to "well that's that, I'm getting fired"
Any layoffs at the other firms? EY?
Thinking about moving to a big city with the following preferences. I am thinking about Dallas, philly, or Chicago. What’s your experience living in those cities? Is there any other city I am missing? 1. Growing economy and population 2. Great food scene and things to do as a young professional 3. Relative LCOL can’t afford housing in NY, SoCal, etc. 4. Diversity of culture especially a bigger Chinese presence
Does MBB compete mostly between themselves? Are there other firms that put up decent fights?
What's the diversity scene like at ATK??
Hi everyone. Not sure this post falls into the right category but here it goes: I have been talking to two agencies who are interested in my work. One already made an offer. The other has not yet, but we are in a second round of interviews. My question: is it appropriate to bring the fact that I have already an offer from an agency 1 when talking to agency 2? I am very interested in the second agency but I’d like them to know that I can’t wait too long. Thoughts?
Hi, Does anybody know about the Community Brands company. How's the WLB, culture, projects.
I'm calling it quits. With the most recent rejections from EY, KPMG, Crowe, then rejected and ghosted by PwC, I'm hanging it up. Deloitte still has me in their system since the hiring blitz but nothing has come of it since October 2021. I'm done chasing and I'm taking a break. I appreciate those that helped me out before. Thanks again.
Any skip promotion from Senior 2 to Manager who can explain why our compensation will be lower than fellow managers (going from S3 to M1)?
Hi 🐟 Does Dassault systems sends rejection mail. Please add your thoughts if you Interviewed at Dassault.
I got a job offer at Apple and I’m so conflicted. I nor my boyfriend are just thrilled to live in California, but this opportunity is incredible. He is not willing to move with me or be long distance so I’d be in a position to where this could not only impact my relationship but I could also miss out on a job opportunity of a lifetime. Any advice? I am feeling like I’m picking between my career and relationship. It sucks. For context, we’ve been together 2 years and live together.
I'm an introverted person, like to keep to myself, focus on work, spend the rest of my time on family, gym etc. I've been told that I need to work on my communication and client relationship building skills. any books I can read? I don't follow pop. culture anymore, no longer actively follow team sports (but sporty myself) as I consider it bread and circus for the masses and don't rly enjoy work drinks... Am I doomed? Personally I am happy and love the work but fear for my career progression.
Interviewing at another firm. Next interview includes 90 min case study and 30 min excel test. I'm a financial modeler (advanced skills). How in-depth do you think this excel test will be? More info ⬇️

Anyone hiring for a junior/associate producer position at an agency? I’ve been trying to make the switch but reaching out to people, applying online, and just scouring the internet isn’t working.
I’m an in-house litigator interested in transitioning to a hybrid litigation (50%) and diversity and inclusion (50%) role. Career suicide? Will it work or will I end up doing 2 jobs?
Was going to quit consulting due to travel.. but now COVID .. should I consider staying (I enjoy consulting) in the hope thay clients and consulting firms will reduce travel in a post-COVID world?
Articling student in Canada (8 month internship with potential hireback), currently doing transactional work. I’m WFH and having a hard time building relationships with partners. I’m friendly/chat with associates and am on great terms with one partner who gives me work often, but not much else. The firm “encourages” reaching out to partners to chat, though I’ve tried and been essentially ignored. Partners rarely have enough time to give me feedback, so I feel they don’t have time to chat.
Hi Fishes , How much can I expect as CTC ( fixed plus bonus ONLY excluding esops) from one of the FAANGs with around 8.5 years of work ex with a senior data engineer profile. It will be really helpful if you could share your insights. Thanks in advance.
I got a bonus from my old Boston based employer in January 2021, by which time I’d moved to NYC for business school. I’m moving back to Boston after school so did not declare permanent residency here in NYC (vote and driver licensed in MA). So my domicile is in MA even though my current residence is in NY. Do I have to pay NY taxes on this bonus?
