When applying for a Creative job, is it acceptable to contact the CD directly in addition to completing the standard submission form? Or is this annoying for CDs to deal with?

My Redfin agent recently quit with one day notice to start his own firm. He was the one behind my deal and did a lot of work and help with negotiation. However Redfin called me and said they put their top regional lead on transaction which is set to close in 10 days. I’m conflicted with what to do. I got afraid and agreed but now I don't want to agree to that figure and I want to negotiate more. How this can be done.
