I say this again and again...you don’t get promoted because you’ve worked somewhere long enough. You get promoted because you have shown you can swing above your title, are dependable, good to work with, a team player, can come up with great ideas and maybe even sell them. It drives me crazy when the conversation becomes about time. It’s about the work. And you.
That really depends on the individual and the growth. Maybe you’re right. Maybe not. Time is not what you should measure here. Look at your performance and value to your team.
Do they have an AD role posted or are they actually hiring for it? Lots of places are posting jobs that aren’t real just to look like they’re doing well. If they’ve laid people off, it probably isn’t real.
I’d hold off on asking for a promotion. Like everywhere, they’re probably in a bad financial spot. Asking for more, even if deserved, will leave a bad taste in their mouth.
There might be more layoffs. If they get the sense you’re unhappy, you’ve made their choice easier.
I agree. I would not ask anytime soon as I am happy to just have a job But in a perfect world, with no Covid, + doing all the extra work i mentioned, is 15 months too soon to ask or even think about it as an AAD?
In the same boat here, we’re shortstaffed and I’ve been doing a lot of senior work despite being fresh out of college.
Asking for a raise makes me feel somewhat greedy but I’ve been putting in a lot of work for the past few months :/
