How do you collect data on classrooms?

Hi everyone! In your experience, what is the one tool / must-have / methodology any of your companies use to bring about a cohesive and comprehensive go-to-market strategy in the launch of new products and services? As a company scales, coordinating cross-functionally and across time zones is becoming increasingly challenging so we have identified that we need frameworks or tools to help us go-to-market in a less clumsy, more coordinated fashion. I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

I find myself in workshops and meetings, groups of 15-20 people, and I’m always the only woman. In my entire department, there are no other women. Does anyone have family members who constantly demand money because they feel like you’re rich now because you’re a lawyer? I’ve always wanted to be in a position to help my family but we all live in the high COL city so my salary doesn’t carry me as far as it would elsewhere. I’ve given a detailed summary of all of my expenses yet every month one family member in particular comes to me for rent money (not some, the full amount, and they refuse to get a job). It has become quite the burden.

Is there any difference in WLB between T1 and T2 consulting firms (in the Toronto offices)? For example, On average, do T2 consultants work/ travel the same amount as T1 consultants in a given year?

For those that made partner (or NEP but where it basically means you’ll be equity eventually), what was your favorite gift you received? Trying to decide what to get a close (work) friend!

What was the hardest class year for you? I used to think first year was by far the hardest but now I’m a third year and I’m really feeling the pressure to step up. I work in finance and at this point I’m expected to handle closing documents, manage first years, draft some portions of major docs, etc. I feel like I’m always frazzled, constantly second guessing if I handled something correctly and anxious to answer calls from clients/OC. The worst part is I think people can tell I’m a mess....

Recent lateral (6ish months). On pace for 2000. Partners keep asking me if I’m liking the quality/type of work I’m getting and telling me to let them know if I feel overwhelmed by my (very manageable) workload. Am I crazy or do they think I’m going to leave for another firm or something six months in?

Taking an informal survey how many firms (I) have the junior and midlevel summer associates plan the bulk of the summer events (lunches but also evening events) and (ii) count time spent on the summer program as qualified billable work (in that partners see how much you bill to it on your time sheet)?

Is your firm treating 12/26 and 12/27 as firm holiday since the 24th and the 25th are during the weekend this year? Of course client demands would dictate whether people will be working, but curious what the official policy is. For what it’s worth, my firm treated the day after thanksgiving as holiday and I didn’t have to work for the whole day.

Would it be a good idea to join a Social Club where potential clients spend time? (gym/tennis/paddel/events)

Is it true that there’s a lot of 2-4 year lateraling in January?

Has anyone moved away from NY and successfully resigned from the NY bar? What are the consequences if you just don’t pay? The requirements are insane to officially “resign” - draft a motion, pay a fee, send proof of service - I honestly do not know what this nonsense means, I’m not a litigator for a reason. Is there someone I can pay to do it? Should I just pay the $375 to stay active to avoid this nightmare?

Already spoke with a partner who wanted something done this morning for him to review and then we discuss again. Sent it to him about 4 hours ago. Should take him half an hour to review max. At what point can I check in with him to see when we can catch up so I’m not waiting in the office all day?
