Deloitte Human Capital Consulting I am currently a student considering my options for careers. I have an internship lined up for Deloitte this summer in their Human Capital department . From what I can see it is a lot of workday implementation/other hr softwares. This is interesting to me. But I would also like the opportunity to be involved in talent strategy, compensation and benefits etc. But it seems like this really isn’t an option. Could someone please provide insight into this role.
I’m making 130 TC post MBA in NYC. I’m not unhappy about my job/company but it feels like there are a ton of better paying opps I could switch to. Am I right to think that? Would you be looking to move elsewhere in my position? Ive been in this role 1 year mainly doing market opp work

And is QSR mean quick service restaurant. I come from the CPG & sale world. Thanks for any input. - repost across bowls
Sometimes I feel like my boss takes "coaching" a little too far. He's all about "breaking me down" in order to "build me up". He's told me things like my voice is too boring when I present, or that I didn't do enough in my last role, suggesting that I wouldn't be in his team if it weren't for him in team meetings. Yesterday he asked me to call someone (on a non-urgent topic) who was on DND, and when I told them I'd call them later, he mimicked me. Am I being too sensitive?
Genuine question as I wanted to know is it strange for someone to want to switch to advisory from tax. Would it be difficult for someone to transition from that position? I understand that they are too completely different work but similar fields. Also wanted to know what’s the day to day basis like for advisory during covid and in general
Just started a new job where I’m being trained by two people 1 promotion / 1-2 years of experience above me - both men. I certainly have a lot to learn in this role, but they don’t seem to...

For those in big 4, how much time between accepting an offer and start date have you been able to ask for? Is a month feasible/how should one phrase it? Two weeks just doesn’t feel like enough with this heavy burnout/having to wrap up deals at old firm

How do I answer “why are you leaving Deloitte” in an interview without trashing my current job? The truth is that Deloitte has low pay, uninteresting work, and extremely slow career progression with little opportunity to differentiate oneself from peers, so I am looking at other firms which don’t have those issues.
Been on vacation for a week and I don’t want to go back tomorrow. Spending time outside, chilling with my dog and endless Netflix is so much better. 🙈
Applied to Guidehouse for managing consultant, put 140k as expected comp (lol why not). Recruiter set up intro discussion to discuss “next steps”. Pretty sure my comp expectation is far beyond the norm. Any thoughts?
Hi Imad! I recently started at B4, realizing after compliance busy season I’m more interested in audit. Internally transfer doesn’t seem guaranteed and will take at least 6+ months. (Cont.)
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
As soon as my husband and I got engaged my mother in law flipped a switch. She went from being nice and sweet to bitchy and passive aggressive. It’s so awful dealing with her that I have to drink when I’m around her to deal. Anyone had a similar experience? She completely tainted my entire wedding with her behavior. It’s a losing battle to talk to my husband about it because he can’t help but decent her.
I'm off work for the next three months. My CPA title will be rolling in soon, and I'm wondering what I can do to stay mentally/professionally active during my time off. Any suggestions?
