“Pass up a chance at your dream job?” Working from home is part of my dream. Why aren’t companies more open minded to that?

My company brought everyone back and now we cant backfill any of the 30-40 employees that have left. We're losing people by the day and getting turned down from new candidates because we don’t offer any sort of flexibility. "Dream job" is such a myth, 90% of jobs can be done by anyone with some training. People like to think their companies and positions are a lot more complicated. They're not, especially tech people...as we've seen with layoffs. All replaceable and still function fine.
Remote work is the future. It’s as simple as that. I perform way better when I’m working remotely! I don’t have to worry about what am I going to wear tomorrow, or deal with dreadful rush hour traffic.
My dream job will never live in an office. I’ve been remote for almost 9 years and I refuse to go sit in an office when the same job can be done from my home. Companies need to adjust to the times. Period.

I don’t think anyones has been expect maybe a cool office like Google etc. But, then you get the other side of a "cool" office where people are getting lattes and watching movies all day. Either way, I truly believe people are more productive at home with minimal distractions because they want to KEEP the privilege. And if they're not, that person shouldn't be working for you. Simple.
23 years in sales, largest 1099 990k, genXer, but they call me a boomer!!! I am proud of it.
Remote is NOT the future. You want sales? Get the peeps in a pit and make them compete. Culture builds the intangibles. You see the team comparing commission checks on the 15th and watch the fire that grows from that. Irreplaceable!
Haha “checks”! Who gets checks anymore? What is this boiler room?!
He does not really know what he is saying, I have been remote for 12 years, and I wouldn’t take a job to go in the office even make more. You could def have a work life balance working at home, and get more done.
That dude looks a lot younger than a Boomer.
Sick of working remote and managing remote workers . I want the culture !!
Companies need to be more open-minded to remote work or at least hybrid. I love working from home, and I am way more productive at home. A lot of jobs can be done from home.
