So many options. My boys are that age. I suggest LEGO building (duplo and regular), museums that center on transportation— trains, trucks, etc, the zoo, botanical gardens, hide and seek, books, swimming, bike riding (or a little push car for the 1 year old), trying new foods including new ice creams, riding public transit (ends up being a huge thrill, sadly for me), visit to the fire station or police station, the park, card games like go fish, etc. Some might be on the edge of what your 1 year old can handle but he will enjoy when he sees big brother getting into it.
Enjoy this 1 on 1 time with them. I bet they’ll look back on it fondly, especially given how demanding our work schedule can be. Take lots of selfies to remind them
Home Depot sometimes has activities for kids in the mornings
Local airport airplane watching kept my kids happy for a couple hours. Especially if food/snacks were involved and there was enough air traffic to see.
Agree with P1. Also build a fort out of sofa cushions and blankets, painting, kinetic sand. If you have work to do around d the house let them help if possible. All kids love digging in the dirt. When you're done set up a sprinkler to run through and hose off.
Go to the local airport observation overlook. Go to whole foods.
