Yes because as a M/SM from big 4, its more about what youve done than title. Get some great experience leading important projects and working with exectutives and use it to launch your next phase.
Apply, see what you get
Yeah, M1 doesn’t mean much, IMO
OP - did you join out of bschool? When I’ve talked to recruiters in the past, 4-5 years of consulting post MBA is a pretty sweet spot... puts you at M2/3
I was out of B school so that would be my timeline, D1. I guess I’m just not sire what I’d be working towards when I see some really attractive jobs now and I suspect that exist into “industry” really wont be that much of a pay bump above M2/3.
D2 thats interesting, could you share any more detail on what changed your mindset? And are you a partner now?
And I also like the job generally, but thinking about how much more it is gonna ask/take each year is a bit daunting.
Definitely doesn’t hurt to keep an eye out for interesting jobs and apply as they pop up. The challenge is that with just 2 years in consulting you might not get that big of a bump over just going into industry straight from bschool, but if it’s the right job, maybe that doesn’t matter as long as you can make similar money? Good luck!
Yes, put two years. In my year two as manager I went from ‘I want to leave to for sure’ to ‘I want to make partner'. Staying was the best decision I made.
