I’m a GM and no it’s not. I can’t even fathom how my AM’s let alone my baristas make ends meet. Many many roommates I imagine. Multi generational housing is once again becoming the norm instead of the exception simply so people can have a safe place to live and work life balance.
3gen household here🤝😎🙏
No. I have to decide between rent and food. Barely making it.
I am in the same boat currently
I've been with my company for 10+ years. To begin with I was able to make it work. However, in the current economy (with inflation how it is), I have to juggle bills like I'm a 20-something just starting out. It's awful! As a note I've always been the sole provider for my family.
It's true. I'm just happy the state I'm in has an affordable insurance for kids. I can't afford insurance for one person let alone my family size. I slip through the cracks for Obama Care and make too much for Medicaide. It's awful. Some times (recent years), I've had to juggle food vs meds for myself. It's not a fun experience. Inflation needs to come down or needs to stop going up while pay needs to he re-evaluated.
No it is not
Heckkkk no way lower
No. It never was and I'm single with no kids and not much debt. i laugh at jobs who brag about paying their workers more because ultimately they are able to. When cost of production increases then personal incentives decrease.
Especially if your a manger getting paid to have both the best interest of the business and the workers combined. This only invites exploitation at every level

where I'm currently at, I could survive by myself if I went back to freelancing in my free time. but. back in Florida, my mortgage and utilities are about 1/3-1/4th the cost of a 1/1 apartment and landlords require you make 3x what the rent is.
my pay hasn't changed between the two states. I was struggling beyond belief
No
To me.. When you are an A+ manager, that brings in the numbers and have no employee issues, you should be rewarded for your efforts. That is not the case.... because nothing is good enough. That's why the turnover rate in retail, and all industries as a matter of fact, is so high.
For a 2 bedroom in Bethlehem pa at 1060.88 a month one person makes 16 and another makes 14 still isn't enough for food and shower items. May make over 3 grand a month but it is not enough to live off of
But they expect people to be able to live off that
Absolutely not! Retail and food service workers are the most underrated and underpaid. I am a store manager and I make $27/hour. That's the most anyone makes at my store.
SMH it’s a shame
Absolutely not! We have a 47% increase in cost of living in our area this year and our GM gave us $.50 for our cost of living increase. Meanwhile, his bonus this year was $30,000 more than any of his hourly associates yearly salary. He is given a budget and gets to decide how he distributes it. Other DCs got over a dollar and we are the top performers. Go figure.
Do they get to pick their own bonuses? I’m a GM essentially and honestly I would give some of my bonus to my team if I could, but that’s not how it works. I get a budget for my salaries leaders, a speedster budget for hourly leaders and another budget for hourly employees. My bonus is out of an entirely different budget.
Absolutely not. Rent is consuming 95% of my monthly income. My partner pays for bills, groceries and that’s it. There is not living, only surviving.
I just got my annual raise yesterday, and not only is it actual pennies, I am still making less (after 2 annual raises) than some of my coworkers' starting salaries... all while receiving praise, being told I am an asset, and being asked to help my coworkers do their jobs too. So, no. I am absolutely not being paid enough... not based on the economy, my workload, or my quality of work. I'm at the end of my rope.
I live alone in a hotel paying weekly and I can barely afford my rent let alone to be able to even feed myself
I’m so sorry to hear that
No
Haha it's a fact that the cost of living is higher than what we make. Not an opinion. Where have you been existing? Outside of reality? No one can exist on a single 40 hour a week job anymore.
No! I am cute an AM on salary working doubles at a bar on my days off.70hrs a week and still having trouble keeping up with not just bills but quality of life. My life is indentured servitude with no actual end. So I can barely survive but what life is that? I can’t do any fufilling or live a life that I enjoy. But you know when life gives you lemons: destroy capitalism
No it's not even close. Don't get me wrong, we aren't struggling by any means. But we aren't well off either. We are basically living comfortably paycheck to paycheck. And any "cost of living" increase we have received was so minimal that I hadn't even known I received it. It wasn't till someone else mentioned it, that I looked and saw it.
Nope
