Titles don't mean anything in this industry, theyre all made up ego tickling nonsense. Every jackass is a vice executive chief strategy creative associate producer anyway. Money is real, take the money.
@senior strategist 1. That’s called lying. Do you also lie on your resume?
I agree titles don’t mean all that much. But I can’t believe how many people in this business blatantly lie about their roles at previous agencies
Yes, because a title only matters so far. Once you've held a higher title, as long as your responsibilities at least stay close to the same, it doesn't matter.
The titles on my LinkedIn/resume are rarely exactly what those companies called me, but are more reflective of what my role was for the team.
Also, where the hell are you finding jr. roles for 6 figures.
Yep. Titles vary wildly from agency to agency.
Junior creative director. It’s a new role they are trying out.
Can’t buy anything with a title.
my dream is to run an animal shelter and make SVP money...
What director 1 said. One agency's director is another agency's sr.
Yes. My counsel is always that title is irrelevant. Look at what they are paying you and at the work you are doing. That tells you your value much more clearly than a few words.
Hell yeah! My dream is to be a junior and make cco money
Absolutely. If you like the work and the opportunity is sound, that’s more important than title. I’ve done it twice and was able to earn my way back to my previous title fairly quickly
Junior CD? Have they heard of the ACD title?
Call me what you want just pay me.
The real question is why do you care about a title?
I’d question how or why a “Jr” is making 6 figs but has no status. That’s the real sketch
Yes. A title doesn’t mean anything
Be careful pricing yourself out in the long run. You'll be difficult negotiating a pay or title raise in the future at that price - Jr title for 6 figures?!
It’s simple. I’m currently and AD making 93k and an agency I really want to work for is hiring a JR AD. So I’m going for it without any ego 🤙🏽
@OP but I dont understand why any agency would pay over 100k to a junior. You already have an offer from them for that?
