Hey guys, I'm looking a job for a Senior Creative in NYc. What would it be the fair salary to ask for?

If the prospective employer meets my salary requirements, is there any wiggle room for me to try to negotiate further? Maybe a signing bonus?

Have a job offer on the table. It would be a title promotion and salary increase of 15%. My current agency is very well regarded in the industry and makes amazing creative work. I like the culture and the people. The hours can be longer but is expected. I do think there’s opportunity for me to get promoted here, but unclear on timing and I’m already feeling antsy. The new company seems great, but is smaller and less “well-known.”

Can I just get this out? I’m 3 months into my first post-grad adult job and I’ve just received an offer for a much better position that’s in-house, a significant (like >10k) salary bump, and at a better agency. I realize now that I don’t like client services but I know how much my team is just managing to tread water. How can I renegotiate salary discussion with the HR? Initially I said 40% hike (because he practically forced me to give a number) but after having a round of discussion with the reporting manager I have more clarity about the role. Also, it is remote now but I have to relocate eventually.

This might be the MOST important and ONLY post of any true value I post this year, so please, let me know why you might agree or disagree: With all the awakening regarding employment and compensation in our business (remote, unlimited personal time off, parental leave, equal pay, etc, etc..) wouldn’t the most amazing thing we could do be to create PENSIONS? Our parents’ generation had them. Knowing there’s going to be money there when we can’t sling ads anymore could relieve so much stress now.

I’m looking to move out but wondering what level you felt stable enough to live comfortably? I know pay in accounts is pretty crap from the start.

Unpopular opinion: EOY evaluations are pointless. It’s great for personal development, but has little bearing on promos and raises. I suppose your evaluation summary may help convince your performance score, but from there that score is not a major factor in yearly salary and promo decisions.

Just found out in passing that my creative partner is negotiating for a raise and is in the process of a formal performance review with management. For context, we joined as a creative team and collectively negotiated for the same salary when we joined the agency.
