Once a company says they are working on an offer for you, how long have you seen the actual, written offer take? I haven’t made a move in a long time so can’t even remember what this timeline is like. Imagine it might depend on salary/position, as well.

What salary should a mid-level strategist expect to make in NYC?

What is the typical % change in salary moving from NYC to Amsterdam? I’m currently on $175k and getting offers in Amsterdam for Strategy Director roles at eur 100K. Seems insanely low?

Is there generally a penalty if you give your resignation while you’re out on short term disability or FMLA? My employee handbook doesn’t say anything and HR won’t give me any info. I don’t want to get an unexpected letter telling me I owe back healthcare or salary costs because I quit before my leave claim was officially over.

Retention bonus. Yay or nay?

I’m considering accepting a job offer at a better agency with a nice salary bump but I’m pretty burned out from the past 18 months so I’m a little worried that I might not be able to hit the ground running like one normally should with a new job. But the alternative of not accepting the job seems even worse. Anyone else find themselves in a similar spot recently?

Would you take a significant salary increase and title bump, but have to work on less exciting things...or stay at your current shop working on exciting campaigns, but no promise of a big pay increase.

I got promoted a few months ago with a small salary bump. I’m making within a normal sr. ad range, but I know I could be making more. Since then, I’ve taken on a lot more responsibility, and am effectively acting as at least an ACD level. Would it be wildly inappropriate to ask for more of a raise? I didn’t negotiate my raise with my promotion, which I realize I should have done.

This general strike talk has really got me re-evaluating my whole career. I can’t complain about compensation, I’m paid well, I have benefits, and I have a roof over my head. But the work life balance and unsustainable productivity expectations that have been created by agencies that won’t say no to clients needs to change. We place/create ads to turn millionaires into billionaires while we’re treated terribly. Something’s gotta give. I don’t know a single person who isn’t burnt out right now

Find myself increasingly torn between “it’s great to promote great creativity and for people to gain exposure” vs. “exploiting creatives’ ideas for their own gain without real compensation, and devaluing the work/craft of regular agencies”.

Does anyone know what a Creative Resource Manager or Director salary is client side generally?

Creatives make salary. Occasionally we get bonuses. Small ones. Here’s what has always bugged me, agencies make huge margins on our backs when we sell ideas and they go all the way through production. They make money on the actual creative development, they make money on the shoot, they make money using the things we make to attract other clients. It feels like we should get some sort of commission when our ideas sell. A 5-10% kicker baked into every job that makes it out into the world. No?

What is a good salary range for an account supervisor in a major US city?

Was speaking with someone in another industry, and they said it’s standard when they change jobs that the new company covers the cost of Cobra for the gap in insurance coverage (separate from any signing bonus). Was shocked we don’t. I never thought to ask for this. Seems like something we could make SOP if we all start asking for it like we expect it.

If you were able to negotiate a signing bonus in an offer, what were the terms? I’m looking at an offer that says I’ll have to pay back the bonus if they let me go in 12 months or less. I’d like to negotiate and wondering what others have done?

When making the Jump from AAE to AE, what should the salary be? How much of a salary increase should I expect if I got promoted within my current agency vs. getting hired as an AE at a different agency. Trying to see if I want to stick it out at my agency or start interviewing over the next 6 months.

Where do you go to do your salary research? Noticing a MASSIVE discrepancy between LinkedIn salary and Glassdoor… with LinkedIn being substantially lower (98K vs 140K for ACD at the same agency) across multiple companies and positions.

Got offered a title bump with a 50% salary raise at a small local agency. Management seems talented and I know I’ll learn a lot but company has a reputation for overworking their employees. Should I negotiate for more? If yes, how?

Advice needed! Currently work for a holding company/agency. Have about 5 YOE, and have two potential offers:

Option 1 - In house at Goldman Sachs, 14% raise from current salary. I want to make the move in house, and GS is obviously very prestigious, but other than the name I have no attachment to them.

Option 2 - Move to Europe to work for Google, which is my “dream” company. Would make about 30% less than what I make now, and it’d obviously be a huge leap of faith to take, moving to Europe

If the salary or rate isn’t, in fact, listed in the job posting, should it not be discussed in the first call? My mind is blown by the amount of agencies and recruiters being so cagey about sharing a number early on.

Does anyone have experience doing digital advertising in banking/investing? I have an offer for an in-house position at Goldman Sachs, though I’m unsure how the work/life balance will be, as I know most hours in finance are loooooong.

I have 5 YOE, currently a Supervisor, the offer is a 14% raise (plus eligible for bonus), and would bring me to six figures for the first time. In my early 20’s rn.

Do business development roles usually come with a comp structure that ties to new business won?

Received a job offer that was same title and pay. After hearing more about the position, I felt that it was more senior. Asked if they were open to bringing me on as a senior, and they happily agreed….. except when I got the new offer, it was still the original salary lol.

I don’t want to come off as greedy, but this feels odd.
