Today I complete 7 years of working in IT industry and I want to share my compensation history.I am 33 now, year 2014 Nov I left my job as bartender/chef making $15/hr because after 3 months of prep I cracked my first software analyst job. From that point to today here’s a summary of my job title and comp
Analyst 2 yrs ($35/hr)
QA lead 1 yrs ($50/hr)
Proj. Manager 2 yrs ( $98k/year)
Mgr.- Consulting 2.3yrs 125k/year)
Senior Manager - (200k/year)
I will post things I learn and observations below

I'm a 3 yr manager (Tax) at EY and think I'm in zone for promotion to SM next year. Current salary: 157k. But I just received an offer to be a Corporate VP with salary of 190k. EY has higher potential comp for those on PPMD route, but honestly, I'm not much for selling which is what I'm seeing my job entailing more as a SM. I think I'd prefer the Compliance job, but I'd miss my EY team.

Feeling split. Thoughts/advice welcome on how to evaluate choices.

What’s the starting salary for a senior manager in the NYC real estate practice at EY?

SM salary at EY FS? NYC, 10+ years of experience.

Currently a 2nd yr SM with $280k ($230k base and $50k bonus this year). Got an offer from AWS, L7 Principal Architect $175k base + $140k Y1 joining bonus + $45k Y1 RSU (vesting at 5%). Some serious hit on the base however the overall comp is ok. Any thoughts and comments on comp, level etc would be appreciated.

I left PA earlier this year for a manager level financial reporting role. It was a lateral move but would’ve been up for senior manager promo in July had I stayed in PA. I was approached with another opportunity as Sr Manager Financial Reporting at a public company for $150k and 20% bonus with a clear path to director in time. 8 YOE and live in FL. I’m trying to get an idea if this is in line with market. TIA!

Negotiating at FAANG - recruiter is saying 220 all in with equity and 15% bonus. How much can I negotiate without another offer?

Startup Corp Dev Comp?

Got an offer for a corporate development role at a pre-ipo startup. Senior manager title but not really meaningful as it’s a startup, essentially I’ll be the only corp dev guy outside of the c-suite.

205k USD cash comp + 115K USD options (net value at current private valuation). IPO likely to happen over the next year.
