How much are nurses making as utilization managers?

I’m an occupational therapist looking to transition out of traditional OT. I would like to get a remote position in Utilization Review or Appeals/Denials. I also recently got a data analytics certificate so would be open to healthcare analytics. Anyone know a resource or looking to hire for these?

Utilization at 40% will I be able to make this back up?

At PwC, if you think your utilization is low and want to ask for more work, who do you reach out to, RL or HR?
And is it worth asking to be booked on something if you are only available for 2 weeks?

Help me understand how this would work. Getting an offer right now that’s 150k base but with potential to get to my target $200k bar with a bonus for any utilization above 70%. Recruiter said with my typical 90-95% utilization (past 2 years) that should be easy. New to consulting from industry - thank you

Fucking tired of this rat race. Been working for 11 years and just got laid off, CD said they "couldn't give a reason". Been let go a bunch of times, had boring or mean clients, toxic coworkers, underpaid, under utilized, more bad times than good. I love design but being a professional sucks, and if this first decade is how it goes I wont survive the next 20 or 30 years. Taking time off while I figure out my next move, will probably be entrepreneurial. Anybody else in this boat?

I am interested in a clinical manager position for my company that performs utilization reviews for skilled nursing facilities. Currently I am clinical coordinator performing those reviews but I want to move into management. What type of salary can I expect.

How are strategy consulting teams structured? I’m considering a move to a larger size consulting practice, but how do people stand out, and how are they efficiency utilized by ‘consulting management’, when hundreds of people can exist within a single strategy team/department nationwide?

Wise ones, need advice. I’m an industry hire, new to consulting. Started in Dec as SM,finished my only project in March. Benched since and volunteering to help on proposals & practice building but feels weird to be benched for this long. I only learnt about utilization rates for CRTs recently. Firm talking about managers not pushing work down to seniors and staff utilization is too low; I feel like they’re overlooking the fact that we have a ton of new hires weighing utilization of staff down while experienced seniors that know what they’re doing are also getting crushed by work AND training new hires (who frankly aren’t much of a help under fast and tight deadlines)…thoughts?

I have about 3.5 years of software implementation consulting experience, I’m getting tired of the 9 - whenever the work is done hours and the constant pressure of utilization. I have no idea where to start, has anyone exited from implementation consulting? Any suggestions?

I was an extremely high performer at my last firm, when I joined my new firm I was plenty excited and wanted to overachieve so I set time up with my counselor and said I wanted to go for early promotion.

Months later, I realized now I just want to coast and put my effort towards other things but my counselor is still recommending me do this and that, staying ontop of my utilization to make sure it exceeds standards, etc.. how do I tell them idgaf anymore lol

Huge mistake? career feedback requested. I am 43. No mentorship/direction in high school and college (Econ degree) ended up writing commercial RE appraisals, it’s a bit of a sweatshop industry imo. Now I am a reviewer at a bank. Shy of $90k & 40 hours with little stress. I have my MAI, life is good. I loved acct. and finance (one grad-level finance class as an undergrad, I liked it.) in college. Feeling under-utilized now. Is there a space where I can add more value/earn more. Honesty only pls

Can anyone tell me salary range for medical director jobs for utilization review/management and how to get higher end salary?

Both in industry and consulting, i probably have a 15% utilization on Friday. Just cannot get myself to be productive. Maybe attend a meeting but that is about it.

Is my logic sound?: I’ve been allocating safer medium growth /medium dividend stocks in my Roth IRA given that it grows tax free.
Taxable brokerage is utilized for high growth (small & big tech.) where there is no dividend concern and can take advantage of tax harvesting should positions be sold at a loss

INDUSTRY VS CONSULTING COMPARISON THREAD

Joining Industry has been pretty interesting. I’d love to hear about the little nuances you’ve noticed after making the switch.

I’ll go first:
- The concept of a “boss” is very real. This person is largely responsible for your career, knows your salary, and has influence in things like internal transfers
- The idea of working FOR your boss is also new
- No time sheets or utilization
- Decks and presentation skills are way less polished

I am planning to do independent consulting. Have never done it before. Can anyone please share insights about purchasing medical insurance? My spouse does not work. I am thoroughly confused after a brief research on the web. Should I be getting a private insurance or ACA insurance? Are they different? I manage a small team and I keep their workload extremely balanced so there is never a day they would work past 5 or on the weekends. But I’ve balanced the work so much that I worry I’m not giving them enough and they may get bored or feel under utilized. Outside of more direct work, any advice to better engage them? Should I find them cert programs to do, volunteer firm work, or let them take on extra things outside of their job description? Or just any advice?

Is it normal for directors to indirectly tell you to bill 45hrs to a client with no cap to get your utilization up and to increase their collections? There's probably 5hrs of actual work for me to do. First year in consulting, so I don't know if this is the norm. I've also had another scenario where the invoice was too low and was asked to add a few more hours to the bill
